Hi, I'm Barry -
I am a Sr. Lecturer in Converged Media Studies at the University of North Texas in Denton.
Media Convergence is the blending of traditional and new media to create a multi-platform, interactive information space focused on the user and interactive communication.
My students have an interest in being multimedia news reporters/producers, public relations specialists, marketers or other professionals in the business of delivering reliable information to their audiences or clients.
In addition to television, radio and online media production, we track and discuss today's latest developments in social and informational media on the internet.
Or if you are a follower of a certain ex-President, "the internets".
Why do my students almost never get that joke?
Anyway, I decided to invade this space as a way of giving those students - and you, if you're interested - some things to think about on a regular basis.
It's not required reading, but for those who wish to go above and beyond "what's required" in my classes, my goal is to enrich their/your learning experience with supplemental material which I find amusing, annoying, interesting or anything else along those lines.
